Table 1 shows an overview of the workshops/training events organised in conection to REM PTs.
These workshops and training events not only go through the results of a recent PT and discuss radioactivity measurement techniques, they also serve to create a deeper understanding of the materials that radioactivity monitoring laboratories are measuring.
In addition to covering radiological measurement techniques, the workshops contain topics like: Legislation, quality control, sampling, sample preparation, estimation of uncertainty, weighing, standardisation, deeper understanding of the origin and history of materials to be analysed, impact of measurements, scientific applications using the measurement results, etc.
