European Tracer Experiment (ETEX)

A European scale tracer experiment was organised. 168 sampling station displaced from England to Ukraine and from Switzerland to Finland. Two tracer releases were performed and a databank of surface concentration constructed. A real time model evaluation was performed while the release of the tracer was taking place to simulate an emergency condition and to test the response and forecasting capability of meteorological offices and environmental protection agencies in Europe and around the world.
