Environmental Radiation Monitoring in the EU countries

EURATOM Treaty Article 35 states that each EU Member State shall establish the facilities necessary to carry out continuous monitoring of the level of radioactivity in the air, water and soil and to ensure compliance with the basic standards. The Commission has the right of access to such facilities; it may verify their operation and efficiency.
This database contains the basic information about the involved organisations, legislation and technical systems in operation to fulfil Article 35. In addition, there is information about the sources of radioactivity and about the results of the Commission verifications.

The date after each country indicates the latest update on the country’s data in which a modification or a new information has been introduced.
